Solution: The whole fun of a portfolio is that you get to share what you want to share, right? So this is the first round that the illustrator and I presented to the client - we were delighted with the conceptual way these came out - the client, on the other hand, was looking for something more literal to illustrate the concepts to their readers - so we strayed from this original idea and went in their more literal direction - but I was so pleased with how these turned out, I wanted to share.
